Teen Fashion

Teen fashion 2012 Teen Fashion
Hey teens, this time I prepare a page about choices what your wear style can be. Firstly, you should choose a pant, it can be a jean or flax. Pant should be little torn so that it can be not ordinary. Subsequently, you can combine the pant with a sweat shirt, it is enough to be simple and light colour. It should be light, nor dark colour because in hot and sunny days, light colours absorb  the sun light less compared to the dark ones. Also you can match your pant and t-shirt with a colllared jacket; coat or denim. As an accessorie, some chain ornaments can be useful at using bracelets, necklace or bunchs on shoes.

Midi Skirt for Girls

ASOS midi skirtThe midi skirt has been one of the hottest looks to come off the catwalk this season. They have been featured in the ready-to-wear collections of Louis Vuitton and Prada, to name just a couple. However, for many people the reality of wearing a midi skirt is not as simple as it first seems.

When they first made their appearance in the 70s, midis were all the rage. But as the fashion comes round again many women feel that they just can’t rock this eternally stylish look. The problem is that midi skirts can fall at the most unflattering point of the leg, which means that if you choose the wrong skirt you can easily end up looking frumpy instead of fabulous.

How to Wear the Midi Skirt

The reality is that wearing a midi skirt doesn’t have to end up as a fashion disaster. You just need to take an extra bit of care when choosing the right length. If your skirt is too short, you can end up looking much wider than you actually are. If it’s too long, you can end up looking like your granny.

The ideal length for a midi skirt is one that reaches the middle of your shin, just below the thickest part of your lower leg. This makes your legs seem instantly slimmer and is a great way to disguise areas of concern such as heavy thighs.

Dress for Your Shape

The length of your skirt will ultimately depend on your height. Tall girls can get away with a wider variety of lengths than those who are a bit shorter. If you are tall, you can go for any length as long as it doesn’t reach your ankles, but shorter women should go for a skirt that reaches just below the knee as this will help your legs look longer.

If you have fallen in love with a style or pattern which is the wrong length for your height, then take your skirt to your local seamstress or tailor to have it altered or adjust the hem yourself. A couple of inches can make all the difference between a skirt that makes you look short and squat and one that makes you look svelte and sophisticated.

What to Wear with Your Midi Skirt

Once you have got a skirt which is the most flattering length for your height, you need to pair it with the perfect accessories, handbags and shoes to finish off the look. Unless you are very tall, wearing heels will make your legs appear longer. Go for light-coloured shoes or those which have an open heel if you can and avoid any shoes which have an ankle strap as these will make your legs look even shorter. When it comes to your top, it is usually best to go for a simple style and a neutral tone, especially if your skirt is pleated or features a bold pattern or colour. If you are a bit chunky around your bottom, then a fitted jacket which sits just above your hip will help to balance out your shape. Another very flattering way to wear the midi is to go for a high-waisted option teamed with a skinny belt to add definition.

Enjoy the Mall

Window shoppingI think at some point I may have mentioned my love of malls.  In the spring, I did a piece called "How to Shop with an Anti-Mall Person" about how to drag non-mall lovers with you on shopping trips.  Unfortunately, my love of malls can get a bit expensive (clothes, shoes, makeup, Cinnabons etc.) so I have devised a few simple tips to still enjoy the mall without spending any money.
1. Window Shopping.  Yes, you can pretend you are in an old movie and wander up past stores gazing in the windows.  Mock what the mannequins are wearing and wonder how you would look in each outfit.  Gaze into expensive stores and muse about how great it would be to shop exclusively there.
2. Try On Clothes.  You can not just look at store displays forever.  Then it is like being in a museum as opposed to the wonderfulness of the mall.  So try on clothes.  When I was in middle school/the beginning of high school, my friends and I would love to go into department stores like Macy's or Bloomingdale to try on dresses.  We would go to the formal department and pretend we were going to a wedding or a prom that required gowns.  A bunch of us would pile into the dressing room with every type and color of dress imaginable and try everything on.  I'm sure there are more embarrassing Facebook pictures of me in a dressing room in a floor-length silk gown with ostrich feathers on it than I'd care to admit.  But it's fun to just try on clothes that you have no intention of buying.
3. Mix and match accessories.  Go to the jewelry section and try on different rings and bracelets.  See how you would look in a cowboy hat.  Consider that silver really could be your perfect jewelry color.  Check out scarves, belts, and sunglasses too.  Spend some time trying on stuff you would never think about wearing.  You might discover you look good in an item that you would have never considered before.
Girls in sunglasses4. Go to the makeup counter/nearest lotion store.  Go into a makeup store and use the free samples.  Try on green mascara and liquid eyeliner.  Learn what tools do what and which products are the best.  Many makeup stores such as Sephora have free sample sections where you can try out different colors.  Go to a soap store like Bath & Body Works to try on soaps, perfumes, and lotions.  Smell every single scent of everything.  Find out what you like!  It's the perfect time to experiment.
5. Free samples at the food court.  In my experience, most malls have food courts and on Saturdays, most food court vendors have free samples.  You can get an entire meal if you time your stroll around the food court precisely.  I have had mini hot dogs, raspberry lemonades, and ginger chicken on particularly successful Saturdays.
Here you can have all the fun of going to the mall without spending any of your hard earned money.  It may be a little hard to not spend any money like on a memorable episode of Gilmore Girls but I have faith that this trip will be fun and maybe encourage you to save some money for your next outing.

do as the Romans

When in Rome, do as the Romans!

When visiting a new city, the best way to dress appropriately is by taking a look at what the locals are wearing. For those wondering what to pack for Italy, Rome native Lucia offers Travel Fashion Girls advice on what to wear in Rome when you visit her beautiful city during the summer. Enjoy Travel Fashion Girl’s latest feature: City Style Guides.

Visiting Rome is an experience you won’t forget!

To enjoy your stay in the Eternal City you need to carry the right clothes so you can comfortably take in all of our beautiful Italian sights. Here is my Italy packing list helping you decide what to wear in Rome and other tips for travelers visiting my city during the summer:
What to Pack for Rome, Italy:
What to Wear in Rome: Italy Packing ListOne t-shirt: it is necessary if you plan to visit San Peter’s Basilica or any other church, since visitors are not allowed to enter with bare shoulders or legs. Choose a white t-shirt so you don’t suffer too much if the weather is hot.
Three cotton tank tops: they’ll be your allies during the days spent walking through the city to visit monuments. If you don’t want to carry too many colors with you then go for black: Italians consider this color pretty elegant and wearing in black you will be always fine.
One long sleeve shirt: in case the temperature is a little colder than expected. White or black, it will perfectly fit with a pair of jeans.
One long dress: for a special occasion: you could end up eating in a charming hotel or being invited to a party… be sure to have something elegant with you! (sounds like a little black travel dress is in order?)
One pair of jeans: Dark blue. Italians wear jeans a lot, different colors and match them with almost everything. (should you really pack jeans?)
One pair of leggings: They go with everything and are good for layering. (see how to mix and match travel outfits with leggings)
Two pair of shorts: denim or solid dark colors.
One tunic: Solid color, to be worn with leggings or if you go to the beach.
One swimsuit: not so far from Rome, Ostia is a perfect place for a one day trip to the seaside. Don’t forget your swimsuit!
Shoes: One pair of Brazilian sandals to go to the beach. One pair of tennis shoes to go walking in the city (there’s a lot to see in Rome, so there’s a lot to walk too: choose something comfortable!) One pair of black sandals for the evening.
Makeup and accessories (don’t bring any hat with you: you’ll probably buy one in Rome, white with a black belt!)

On Fashion: How to Avoid Apparel Mishaps

Finding the right apparel that fits you perfectly is no easy task nevertheless it is important not to lose hope because you can train your eye to pick out the imperfections to be avoid.
cp shades clothingIf your dream is apparel that fits you perfectly, then welcome to the thousands-of-women-sharing the-same-age-old-dream club. Celebrities that you see on TV may seem to have perfected this leaving you thinking they can do this only because they have the perfect body. However, according to the celebrity stylist June Ambrose, they are not so special after all (and this coming from someone who has worked with the celebrities). Most celebrities in fact have those same imperfections that trouble most women. The thing is though is that they are pretty good at hiding these flaws, and this is the key to a fashionable and well dressed look. Find out how you can achieve the perfect fit with these helpful tips:
• Know, Accept, and Love Your Body
Not knowing your body type and the strengths and weaknesses that come with it is probably the worst torture anyone can put themselves through. When a person is not fully aware of their body type (or simply chooses to avoid this awareness), the risk of wearing inappropriate garments is high. This is why we see rolls of fat that should not be there, the uni-breast, the back fat, and those visible stress marks on clothes. The first thing to obtain a good fit then is to know your body well, your body shape and size, and the fluctuations that you have, along with your strengths and even your flaws. Learn to love your body by learning how to dress in harmony with your body shape.
• Understand the Flaws
Our body is not perfectly symmetrical, one shoulder can be higher, one leg may be longer than the other, and one breast may also be larger than the other. These are natural asymmetries and when you choose clothes that are ill-fitting, people may see these natural asymmetries as unnatural and might even recognise them more when ill-fitting clothes make them seem obvious. This is why it is so important to know your own body.
• Don’t Focus on Diet too Much
People who experience weight fluctuations often buy clothes that they think will motivate them to diet, but although this might help you should be looking for apparel that allows you to move freely with your natural body shape. Avoid the scenario where you need to adjust your clothing week in week out every time your weight fluctuates.
• Know the Difference Between a Good fit and a Bad Fit
cp shades clothing ukTraining your eyes to look for imperfections is always an effective tool. When shopping and trying on clothes, you might well want to look for signs that indicate that the clothes could end up being a disaster. Here are some to bear in mind:
• Side Spills
Clothes that cut your circulation, and cause extra ripples or those pieces of clothing that simply pinch you in the middle.
• The Over tight or Saggy Crotch
The sight of extra material hanging around the crotch is not a feminine sight, on the other hand clothes that appear hug your crotch are far too revealing.
• Clothes that Grip the Armpit
Clothes that are tight around the armpit are an poor fit which means that your shoulders are too broad for the clothing.
• Looking Top-Heavy
A short-waist or boxy jacket that creates the illusion that your shoulders are twice as wide is also a poor fit.
• Bra Spillage
If the back of your cleavage is bursting out with the breasts apparently pouring over the sides, look for a good lingerie shop and ask a saleswoman to help you find the correct size.
